"The Story of A Suicide," by Ian Parker is about a college student named Ravi who was blamed for the suicide of Tyler Clementi. One of the main reasons that he was blamed was because he filmed his roommate while he was having sex with another man. Parker goes on in the story talking about the two boys as they grew up and their characteristics. They both grew up with many different characteristics such as, Ravi was more in the popular loop and his family was wealthy, rather then Clementi, who was not too popular and who came from a family that wasn't as fortunate. This articles suggests that Ravi video taping Clementi was a form of harassment that drove to his suicide.
While reading this article I was shocked a little bit. I completely do not agree with Ravi video taping his roommate, but at the same time there is no proof that this is what caused Clementi to commit suicide. I think this should be investigated more to actually prove that this was what caused him to kill himself. Until then, I don't think it's fair to put all the blame on Ravi.
