"Her Point Is" The Art of Summarizing

The title of this reading is perfect because it made me realize that summarizing really in an art. A good summary is not easy to come by and includes you to change perspectives. You must write a summary that goes along with your own beliefs, but use the content from the reading to show your perspective. When people are lacking confidence, they tend to focus solely on the other writers ideas and their voice ends up get lost. When someone else is reading a summary, they must be able to access their own beliefs on the issues instead of only hearing what your side of the story is. In other words, if you only tell your side of the story than everyone will believe you unless you have a different perspective of the story. This does not mean that you should completely leave out your views, but argue them in a quiet influence. I think a good summary includes an even balance of your own beliefs, but also the beliefs that the writer talked about because people don't always agree with each other, and look at things differently.
