The Story of a Suicide 2

The second part of this story starts off with when Clementi and Ravi met face to face for the first time.  It was obvious they weren't big fans of one another.  Parker goes on to describe the story up to the point where Clementi commits suicide.  The article ends with two significant quotes between Clementi and his mom which were "Don't hurt yourself" - Jane Clementi (Parker 51) and "I would never do anything like that" - Clementi (Parker 51).
This tragic case seemed to have happened because of a huge misunderstanding between Ravi and Clementi.  Ravi did care for Clementi's feelings.  He couldn't express himself because he wanted to save face in front of his friends.  From the texts and conversations Ravi had, it seemed Ravi didn't speak to Clementi because he thought Clementi was shy.  I thought the fact that Ravi sent Clementi a text right after Clementi jumped off the bridge about how he had no problems with Clementi's sexuality and that he was sorry about his actions showed that he realized he had made a mistake and that he was willing to make amends with the situation.  Unfortunately, it was too late.  Ravi should be blamed for tampering with the evidence but Ravi's friends (Wei and Twitter followers) should also be charged.  There is also the possibility that the higher ups at Rutgers told Ravi to apologize to Clementi, which is why he sent those apologetic texts.  Whatever the truth is, this is truly a heartbreaking case.
