"Her Point Is" The Art of Summarizing

This reading focused on the idea that even though a summary is short, it is very important and it has a few rules. The author mentions that we must be able to summarize others' arguments. While summarizing, we must also remember to write truthfully to what the author says and also confidently in our own thoughts. One important idea is to keep away from appearing biased to your audience, always including different opinions and facts that support them. Another is to remember to make sure that the rest of the essay represents what the summary focuses on and prepares for your own claims.

I like how the author of the reading set the work up, because it was very easy to follow. The author also clearly explained how to make a well crafted summary and gave excellent examples. I can remember all of the times I had to write a summary for a paper and hoping that it was good. Now I can have a good reference to look back on if I need any help.
